Use the right traceability for your retail sector

Devices, batches, variants and B2B prices require different tracking.

01

Start with catalogue items

Create products and customers first, then use Stock & purchasing. Advanced tabs require the Advanced commerce module and an eligible sector. Managers handle settings and protected actions.

02

Phones and IT

Distinguish the catalogue product from the physical device identified by a serial number or IMEI. Check the unit’s identity at receipt and during tracking.

Mobile workshop for phones and IT interventions for IT track a technical request with customer, owner, deadline and tasks. A product record alone does not replace that case.

03

Food and fashion

For food, eligible products can be tracked in Batches and expiry using batch number, dates and status. Stock exits prioritize the available batch that expires first; blocked or expired batches must not be used.

For fashion, check variants before each movement and use Fashion & returns for the specialized flow. A different size or colour is a different variant.

04

Hardware, wholesale and books

For hardware, check the units and packaging offered in Purchasing and track requests in Site orders. For wholesale, B2B pricing complements the catalogue; check the price actually applied to the sale.

For books and stationery, use Books & supplies and Orders & searches to organize a customer request. Purchasing and stock use the common flow: do not assume a tab reserved for another sector is available.
