Building & Construction: getting started
Choose your trade, set up VAT and insurance, and prepare your services and visits.
Choose your trade
When you sign up, the Building & Construction card opens the 16 trades, grouped into six families: repairs and installations, finishing trades, structural work and renovation, public works, outdoor works and building services. Choose the one that best describes your main activity.
Your trade sets the vocabulary, the type of record (call-out, job, contract, rental or assignment), the starting catalogue categories and the overview indicators. Categories are created without prices: your rates remain your own.
Set up VAT and insurance
In Account & organization, set your VAT scheme: standard, or the small business exemption in Belgium, France and Luxembourg. Under the exemption, your quotes and invoices are issued without VAT and carry the legal mention of that scheme.
Also fill in your professional insurance: ten-year liability or professional liability, insurer, policy number and coverage. It is printed on your quotes and invoices. In France, where it must appear on them, an alert reminds you as long as it is missing.
Prepare your services and visits
Add your services to the catalogue with a starting price and what is included. Sira presents these prices as starting prices and offers a visit before any firm price. For equipment rental, your daily or weekly rates are your rental prices.
Technical visits are booked in the calendar, within your appointment hours: Sira only offers free slots and says a day is closed when you do not see clients that day. For equipment rental, reservations and pick-ups replace visits.
What Sira does for you
Sira answers your customers using your catalogue, your FAQ and your calendar. It only mentions a VAT rate, grant or subsidy if your FAQ says so, and does not give an opinion on a permit or a legal obligation.
When a customer reports a danger (gas smell, a socket heating up, a wall about to fall), Sira sends safety instructions and passes the conversation to your team.
